Spring Tease

Edging toward spring and the light is already much brighter. As for the cold, it is still there but there are days we can walk down the middle of the street with boots on. Sneakers for me, soon.
As for the mind, well, it’s always like this. It takes a long wait to catch a snapshot as to what is going on inside, and right now I am still waiting.
You can’t push the future to reveal what only time can deliver, so I busy myself with this or that, as ice slides off the roof, and I hear some of the larger icicles hit the ground, and always drip, drip, drip. And then it freezes up overnight.
I have a few things I’m fiddling with, like photography. Doing a bunch of astrology readings for folks but going to wind that down as spring comes. I haven’t done astrology readings for the public in many decades, and I kind of like being useful.
All kinds of house happenings, repairs, fix this, fix that. It’s warmer these last days but for sure the cold will return, and with it snow, and the winter winds always blowing the prayer flags in the yard, the wind chimes tinkling, and me looking out the window watching the snow whirl around in the air.
Each year I ride the beauty of spring as far as I can, until it turns into hot weather and then, seeming without knowing it, I forget and fall into line, and fail to enjoy what I wish I could enjoy right now, warmer weather. I never wish for cold weather, yet I do lose this yearning for spring and waste too much doing nothing with my summer. And then autumn sets in and it starts all over again.
